STUDENT EVENTS

In addition to teaching, I produce a series of student and public events at The School of Media Studies. Producing, of course, is not a single-handed process and I am appreciate and hold in awe of the School of Media Studies administrative staff who assist in every aspect of planning from venue booking, promotions creation and reception arrangements.  Now, with our newly minted in-house production team, RedDog Productions, producing events includes their valuable partnership in providing technical services and awesome documentation.  Lastly – and so very importantly – essential to the success of these events is the participation of student producers I select, supervise and collaborate with.

I have worked as primary or co-faculty producer on RUFF CUTS, FINE CUTS and Mixed Messages for a number of years. Each of these events features an outstanding range of student work across media format, genre and style.  This Fall 2014, I will be stepping down from producing these events in order to join the Dean’s producing team for the Dorothy H. Hirshon Artist in Residence year long program.  I’m including information on each of my former events because they live on through emergent student work and colleague faculty producers – – and because I will continue to feel a part of them.
